About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 visa-free transit itinerary

Hi!

I'm planning my Hong Kong trip where I also plan to visit a few days in Shenzhen (and Macau). I'm a danish passport holder.
The plan is to go from Hong Kong -> Shenzhen -> Macau.

As far as I know this is eligible for the 144 hour visa-free transit.

Would I just go to one of the ports (e.g Lok Ma Chau) and apply for the transit visa there?
Does the the visa-free transit cost money?

Thanks!

Not really. In Shenzhen, the 144-hour visa-free entry permit is only given at the airport. That means you need to arrive by flight, which is not practical from HK. Visa-free transit costs none.

Another solution is to apply for a Shenzhen port visa on arrival, which is valid for 5 days. In the case, you cna do it in Luohu (Lo Wu), Huanggang, Shekou or Fuyong port. It costs CNY275 for passport holders of most countries.
