The first and the most important detail is that the citizens of the Philippines do not need a visa for visits to Hong Kong for stays of up to 14 days.

In order to travel to mainland China, Guangzhou specifically as you have mentioned it, the citizens of the Philippines need a visa obtained in advance. They cannot rely on 144 hour visa free transit because they do not belong to 54 countries eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in China.

The citizens of the Philippines can use 24 hour visa free transit to travel through China, for example Hong Kong - Guangzhou - Philippines, but in order to use this option a train is not an allowed option. The only option is to take a direct flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and from Guangzhou a direct flight to the Philippines. By the way, you cannot take, under 24 hour visa free transit a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and then return by flight back to Hong Kong, but to some third country (region)...

In other words, in order to visit Guangzhou and the rest of mainland China, I suggest you to obtain a Chinese visa in advance or just to postpone your visit to Guangzhou and focus to Hong Kong and even to Macau.
