About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

Does the tickets have to be issued together?

Hello!

My itinerary will be Osaka - Beijing - Hong Kong, but I will buy the tickets separately. Will I have any problems with the airline when checking in or at immigration in Beijing? I read on the Korean Air website (which will be my airline) that they can deny check in if passengers do not show their travel documents.

Thank you

If you have mentioned your all stops within your itinerary, then you are definitely and undeniably eligible for 144 hour visa free transit if you plan to stay in Beijing area for more than 24 hours and for 24 hour visa free transit if you intend to stay in Beijing area for less than 24 hours.

You are advised to reach your check-in counter in South Korea with the printouts of your flight tickets and you will be perfectly fine because they can see in Timatic that your itinerary is eligible for visa free transit through mainland China. Having separate tickets is perfectly fine as well as using unrelated airlines. In other words, you will have all the documents you need to travel with peace of mind.

Julia, just one detail... It is obvious that you will have a stop in South Korea since you fly with Korean Air and this is fine, but to be totally transparent, you always has to present your itinerary with all the necessary details.
