Unfortunately, you have to fly from Xi'an to a third country/eligible territory and you cannot travel from Xi'an to Guangzhou because it is not allowed to have two mainland Chinese destinations in a row during 144 hour visa free transit. Also, you should have in mind that you cannot fly from Xi'an to Hong Kong, but it has to be a third country/eligible territory. If you have a flight from Hong Kong back home, you can fly from Xi'an to Macau, but it has to be a nonstop flight without any additional landing within mainland China of any kind.
During your stay in Xi'an you are not allowed to travel to Luoyang, but your limits are equal to city limits of Xi'an and Xianyang.
