Do I need transit visa for 23 hr stay

I am travelling from Brisbane (Australia) to Lahore (Pakistan) on my Australian passport. My stay at airport is 23hrs and my airline has provided me a free hotel which is outside the airport. Do I need to apply for G visa?

If your total stay in China is less than 24 hours, you are eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit and no visa is needed. But if you need to get out of the airport, you have to get a temporary entry permit at the 24-hour visa-free transit counter in the airport.
