About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

USA > Guangzhou (for 3-4 days) > then high speed train to Hong Kong

Hi, is my itinerary above eligible for the 144 hour visa free transit?

I read on one of your other replies to another question that taking a train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong is now no longer an option for the 144 hr visa free transit. Is there official notice somewhere that I can go to review and confirm what methods of travel from Guangzhou to Hong Kong is an option for the 144 hr visa free transit?

Yes, you can. It is called Timatic. Timatic is the ultimate tool used by airlines and airport authorities in determining if one's journey is eligible for visa free travel (transit) or not. There it is clearly written about every single eligible port of exit from Guangdong province. You will see that trains are no longer eligible. I say unfortunately because they are the most convenient, but even without them, this scheme is functioning by taking a ferry or a nonstop flight from Guangzhou to Hong Kong.
