About:Visa on Arrival

Where in HK to apply the 5days-VOA

Hi,

I am Australian, visiting Hongkong in Feb 2024. How and where in HK do I obtain the 5 days VOA? I plan to take train to cross to Shenzhen.

Roy, you cannot take a direct train to Shenzhen. You can take two overland border crossings: Huanggang and Luohu (Lo Wu) and a ferry from Hong Kong to Shekou port in Shenzhen. You are advised for the latter option because it is more comfortable option. Also, you will not apply for this visa in Hong Kong, but at visa offices from the mainland China side upon your arrival at the border crossing. Please, just have in mind about opening hours. The first two: 9:00 - 16:30 and Shekou: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30.

When you are over with your stay in Shenzhen, you can take a direct train to return back to Hong Kong. Also, have in mind that the payments for the visa have to be done by card only.
