About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Will I be elegible for the 144HRS visa?

Day 1-5 fly in from US to Beijing, day 5 fly out from Beijing to Bangkok which means I will be staying in Beijing about 4 days. Will I need a visa or exempt under 144 hrs free visa. Thanks
