About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need the 144hr Visa

2 Canadians departure to Thailand from San Francisco, USA. Our connecting flight is via Hong Kong to Thailand. We will just be passing through and not leaving the airport. Want to confirm if we need more than the 144 hr visas.

If you are flying just via Hong Kong and not via any other mainland Chinese airport, you can travel absolutely visa free because 144 hour visa free transit is not relevant for Hong Kong. Canadians can stay in Hong Kong for up to 90 days visa free, so there is no a single reason to be worried or to plan the schemes that are not relevant for this region. This scheme is relevant for mainland China only. Have a nice journey.
