Nepali Passport holder flying from China to Nepal with two-airport-transit in China

Hi,
I am a Nepali passport holder currently studying in Japan. I plan to fly back home (Nepal), I found a ticket with Air China Airlines, with 2 transit points- at Shanghai (PVG airport) and at Chengdu (TFU airport). The total layover time in China (the difference between the 1st arrival at Shanghai and the last departure from Chengdu) is within the 24-hour limit. So, can I travel without any issues? I am particularly concerned about my domestic flight within China if I need a transit visa (I believe my luggage will go to my final destination (Nepal) directly as it is with the same airline.
Thank you for your help

If your total stay time in China is less than 24 hours, then you are eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit and no visa is needed.
