About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK Passport holder visa exemption policies

I have 2 questions. I have booked a cruise departing and returning to Shanghai (not visiting any other places in China) and am a UK passport holder.
1) Would it be possible to arrive in Shanghai 2 days before the cruise and use the 144 hour visa exemption as a UK passport holder?

2) The cruise would last 7 days and return to Shanghai on a Sunday morning. Would I still be able to then take a 24 hour transit exemption as the UK citizen and fly out of Shanghai the Monday morning at 10:10am? I mean is it okay to have another exemption so near to the first exemption since leaving China and would I need to specifically make sure I don't leave my cruise until 10:10am or later on the Sunday so it is less than 24 hours to my flight out?

Hi, it is better for you list all your stop overs on your cruise itinerary and the following schedule, and then we can see if it can be eligible for 24/144 visa-free transit.

I assumed that you fly from a British city to Shanghai and then board a cruise to Japan, right? After 7 days of the cruise, you go back to Shanghai and fly back to UK? If I was wrong, please point it out. If you go this way, there is no problem to have 24/144 hour visa-free transit. It doesn't matter how many times you used and it only requires a eligible itinerary.
