X2 Visa to X1 Visa

Hi, I am a German student studying in Nanjing. As I am a degree student I am able to apply for the X1 Visa, but I thought I would not be staying here for more then 6 months and I was not aware that I only get single entry with my current visa. I would like to change my X2 Visa to the X1 Visa or apply for the X2 Visa. Do you know if I can do this here in Nanjing/China or if I can go to Hong Kong? Going back to Germany would be crazy expensive and quite a hassle for me. Also do you know if I have to extend my X2 Visa after arriving. Mine says " expires on 4th of November" but it also states I have 180 days duration and that would end in February. Thanks for your help!

It is possible to extend your visa in China but I'm not very sure about transferring to X1. It is better to confirm with local entry and exit administration bureau. Your duration is 180 days from your entry date.
