About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two stops in China

Hello!

I have a flight form Hungary to Japan with first stop in Ningbo (8h), then second in Shanghai.
How long can I stay in Shanghai? From what I understand, I should leave China in 24h after arriving in Ningbo, is that correct? I would have preferred to have a bit more time.

Actually, since both Ningbo and Shanghai are in the same transit zone, your itinerary is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in wider Shanghai area or to be precise, you can travel around and explore Shanghai city and two provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang for full 144 hours.
