About:10-year China Visa

Valid 10-year CN "L" visa for US nationals, if issued in Sep-2017?

Please (re)confirm that a 10-year CN "L" visa for US national, issued in Sep-2017, has been reactivated from Mar-2023. There have been conflicting reports: One report says that that the visa needs to be reissued (at no charge), if willing to accept three (3) years - not ten (10) years validity. Other report says that it remains valid until Sep-2027. Please clarify.

First, it remains valid until 2027-Sep.

Second, you can choose to apply for compensation. A three-year multi-entry visa can be applied free of charge when your visa expires in 2027. Compensated visas shall be applied for in accordance with normal visa procedures and document requirements

Third, if you don't want the compensation, you can also apply for a new 10-year multi-entry visa with normal charge.
