About:Guangzhou Transportation

Connecting flight from Guangzhou to Harbin

Hi, we are scheduled to reach Guangzhou at about 12:35PM and the next flight is at 7PM.
We intend to take the metro to visit the city centre in the hours in between.
Question:
1) Do we need any special pass to exit & re-enter for departure?
2) I believe the check-in luggage are all the way to Harbin, but we will need to store our hand luggage. Is it difficult to find lockers?

1. So your next destination after Guangzhou will be Harbin? Is Harbin your final destination or another mid-stop? If Harbin is another intermediate stop, just make sure your scheduled arrival time in Guangzhou to scheduled departure time from Harbin is less than 24 hours, you can travel visa free. Just apply for a temporary stay permit in Guangzhou to leave the airside. If it is longer than 24 hours or you will travel around in Harbin, you need to apply for a visa in advance.
2. There is "Left Luggage" counter in the airport. Just ask the staff where it is.
