May I stay in Shenzhen longer than 5 days with a VOA?

I'm from Canada and would like to travel to Shenzhen. I understand that I can apply for a VOA when I arrive in Shenzhen but only allowed to stay for 5 days. Will I permitted to stay longer than 5 days with a VOA? I would like to stay 10 days.
