About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Chengdu

Sichuan airlines connection TFU

I am flying form Kathmandu to Taipei with Sichuan airlines and I have a 20h layover at TFU. It seems that Sichuan airlines do not check your baggage through and you need to collected and checked in again. For that you need to go through immigration. I’m from Canada so I should be able to get a 24/144h visa free on arrival.
However I am not sure if the airline would risk to let you take the flight without an actual visa, as if for any reason you can’t get the free visa on arrival you wouldn’t be able to collect and check in again your luggage. Is this something common in TFU? Thanks in advance for your help!

As long as you have the flight ticket to Taipei in hand, you should get onboard smoothly in Kathmandu. The staff of Sichuan Airlines are well known about the 24/144-hour visa-free transit policy because it is frequently used by many foreigner passengers. Wish you a smooth trip~
