Does visa approval mean I get in despite turkey visit?

Hi. Problem: bought plane tickets (Air China) London-Beijing for 25th October then Beijing to Sydney 29th October then finally Sydney to London 7th November with 7hr layover Beijing. For me and husband, anniversary present. Was planning from 26th October arrival to 29th departure to use the 144 visa free entry to stay 3 nights in Beijing to see it before the 9 days in Australia. Then just found out they sometimes refuse entry if you’ve been to Turkey (went to Istanbul in August, first foreign trip in years, only stamp in new passport!) Now wondering whether to try apply for visa but if that’s granted, might they still refuse entry in Beijing? And if they do what would happen (our flight to Sydney isn’t for more than 48 hrs after landing! Would we get put on flight back to London at our own expense or could we at least (not great but saves holiday in Oz) purchase next flights available to leave China and get somehow to Sydney? Would we be allowed to do that or simply deported? And could it really happen that even with a visa (not the 144 visa free option) that a Beijing security official will still refuse us entry because of our recent trip to Istanbul?!! Very stressed- would really appreciate advice. Thanks

I have never heard that someone once being to Turkey will be denied to China and there is no feedbacks on this forum about it. Actually, according to my experience, you will be granted the 144-hour visa-free transit in Beijing and 24-hour visa-free transit for the return trip. Take it easy. Even if you failed to get them (which will hardly happen in your case), you can buy another ticket to fly to Sydeney, rather than going back to London.

Hi Franklin, it is better not as you may face more serious punishment.
