How was Ming Chengzu remembered as? Was he despised or praised? why?

It was he who removed the capital from Nanjing to Beijing and ordered to build the Forbidden City. He also followed his ancestors to build the Ming Dynasty Great Wall to defend against the Mongolians.

He was also criticized for killing around 3000 court ladies. Seen from this perspective, he was a cruel emperor.
