Take flight to Vienna from Shenzhen with no China Visa

Hello. I stay in Hongkong at the moment for a holiday but my flight back to Europe got cancelled. Is it possible to book a return flight to Vienna from Shenzhen without an existing visa or can I apply for an on arrival visa at the Hong Kong Shenzhen boarder?

You can apply for a 5-day Shenzhen visa on arrival. But it's not guaranteed you will get it for sure.

If you plan to give it a try, it is better to get there by ferry and arrive the visa office as early as possible. Shekou port is more recommended as there may be less applicants.
