Chinese Temporary Residence Permit in another city

Hello, if I'm going to China with an X1 visa, can I register for the Chinese Temporary Residence Permit in Beijing with a hotel's address for a few days first, and then register again in another city where I will study? Will that change of accommodation affect my stay as a student in China?

There is no need to do so and one can get only one resident permit. The easiest way is to register for the resident permit at where you are going to study within 30 days after entering China. You can just travel in Beijing for a few days with the student visa.

Thank you so much! And what about the accommodation registration that has to be done 24 hrs after arrival? Can I do it in Beijing first and then in another province without problem?

Yes, you can do it in Beijing at first. Usually, the hotel you will stay in will do it for you.
