About:How to Travel from Hong Kong Airport to Shenzhen

HK Airport to Shenzhen - visa on arrival (5 days)

Hi, if we arrive to HK Airport on Sep 6th 12:10 pm by plane, and need to cross to Shenzhen and get visa on arrival (5 days), what would be the best option for us? We are 2 Lithuanian (EU) nationals.

1. Ferry from HK Airport to Shekou - given there are daily visa quotas - is it worth trying this option if the earliest ferry we can take is the 15:00 pm one?
2. Taxi from HK Airport - which Shenzhen port entry should we go to if we want to get visa on arrival (5 days)? How would our whole taxi trip look like? Anything important to know here?
3. Ferry from HK early morning the next day - which HK port should we go from and to which Shenzhen port should we go if we want to get visa on arrival (5 days)?

1. The immigration office closes at 16:30, so it is risky to take the ferry at 15:00.
2. Taxis are not allowed in the border limited areas, so you need to take a taxi to somewhere at first, then change to a MTR or bus to the port. The land ports also close at 16:30 for VOA and there are usually long queues.
3. This is the best option. You can take a ferry from HK Macau Ferry Terminal to Shenzhen Shekou Port and apply for a VOA there. You'd better confirm the schedule the beforehand.
