About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

French national - Frankfurt to Taipei via Guangzhou

I am a bit confused about the 24-hour visa-free transit. I am a French national. I will be flying on China Southern from Frankfurt to Taipei with a four-hour stop in Guangzhou. My flights (both China Southern) land and depart from the same terminal at Guangzhou aiport. Transit time is about 4 hours on the way in and 7 hours on the way out. I do not intend to leave the terminal or pass through immigration. Do I still need to apply for a transit visa ?

This is 24-hour visa-free transit. That means there is no visa at all. Only if you want to get out of the airport, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit.

So, it is okay for you to travel without a visa on both of your two journeys.
