About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Covid requirements

I have a 70 hours stopover in Shanghai and willing to apply for a transit visa. What are the covid requirements?
Can you confirm that to obtain the transit visa I only have to inform the airline company at the check in?

Many thanks,
Alessandro

Actually, this is not a transit visa, but you are looking for 144 hour visa free transit. There is no visa at all if your itinerary is eligible, of course. Also, if your itinerary is eligible, like:

Rome - Shanghai - Seoul

You will just inform your airline at the check-in. There are no additional requirements in this regard.

As far as covid requirements are concerned, you will have to make a DIY covid test and take a photo by your smartphone of the outcome. Also, you will have to fill in Chinese health declaration form. Chinese authorities usually do not ask to see these details, but you should do that for your peace of mind.
