About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

hong kong - guangzhou - hong kong

i understand that i am not eligible for the 144 hour transit if i fly from hong kong to guangzhou and then return to hong kong. is there another airport other than hong kong, but very nearby, that i can fly back to and then obtain the 144 hour permit?

You can fly from HK to Guangzhou and then take a ferry to Macau, which is a eligible route. You should have the ferry ticket in hand when applying for the visa-free transit at Guangzhou airport.

BTW, from Macau, you can take another ferry back to HK.
