About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible for a 24 hours transit permit in Hankou (Australian passport with China visiting visa

Hi , We hold Australian passports with visa visiting China and are planning to flight to Guangzhou with a transit stop over in Hankou (round trip Syd to Guangzhou). There is 12 hours lay over time. are we eligible to have a visa free transit permit so that we could go out of the international airport to see a bit of Haikou?
If yes, how do we apply for one? can we apply in advance as the flight lands at Meiland Airport at 5 am. it may be too early to have anyone working at that time.

Do you mean Haikou in Hainan or Hankou in Wuhan? Anyway, since you already have a China visa in hand, your itinerary is totally fine. Haikou or Hankou and Guangzhou are all within China territory and adopt the same immigration regulations. Upon landing in Haikou or Hankou, you will be allowed to enter with your China visa and then travel freely in China.
