About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 Hrs visa-free transit

Is there any limitation on how many times you can use the 144 Hrs visa-free entry? Do I need visa to visit China with the following schedule:

Canada to Hong Kong by air
Hong Kong to Guangzhou by train (3D2N)
Stay in Hong Kong for a day or two
Hong Kong to Beijing by train (5D4N)
Beijing to Hong Kong then to Canada

That itinerary requires you to get a Chinese visa.

Both HK-Guangzhou-HK and HK-Beijing-HK are return trips, not transit. You need a visa, a double-entry one, because you will enter China twice, one to Guangzhou and the other Beijing.

You can also travel HK-Guangzhou-Beijing-HK, in which case a single-entry will be fine.
