About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

American 144 transit visa into Dongguan

Hello -

I am visiting factories in Dongguan and my business visa is delayed. Looking at options.

US - ICN - Guandong Airport (get 144 transit visa) - take ferry to Hong Kong and fly back to US.

Would this work?

Yes, this is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in entire Guangdong province.

The ferry you will take is provided by CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport.

You will have to buy your ticket before arrival in China with exits from either Nansha (south from Guangzhou) or Shekou in Shenzhen directly to Hong Kong. Also, you will have to print out that tickets and have it with you. One more detail, you will really have to take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for.

Thank you! Please confirm - I do not need any type of visa to fly from ICN to Guangzhou? Also - is it fairly simple to find the 144 transit visa immigration office? What is the typical wait time at the airport?

It is quite simple and you will realize that you will find 144 hour visa free transit counter fairly easy. If you do not see from the available signs, you will just ask.

When you land, you will need maybe 15 minutes until you find a counter and roughly 20 minutes at the counter. When you are granted a temporary entry permit (this is for free), you will go through immigration and customs out of the airport building. I would say that you will need roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes to be outside the airport building. However, this is just a rough approximation.
