what is the best route exit Guangzhou to Macau please?

Coming from Hongkong to Guangzhou with US passport, what is the best and shortest route exit Guangzhou to Macau please?

Assuming that you are talking about the exit within 144 hour visa free transit, I will suggest you to take a ferry provided by TurboJet from Shekou port in Shenzhen directly to Macau. There used to be more convenient ferries from places like Zhuhai and similar, but they are not actual at the time being.

There is also a through bus departing from Zhongshan to Macau, but at this stage we are waiting for confirmation (feedback) about the eligibility of this option.

By the way, if you are traveling on 144 hour visa free transit, you should know that you will have to fly from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. This is the only eligible way how to reach Guangdong province and enjoy 144 hour visa free transit there.
