hongkong - shenzen trip - hongkong visitor visa

Question

I'm doing a round trip of Asia and will be in Hong Kong for 14 days. Within these 14 days i would like to see Shenzen for 3-4 days and after the 3-4 days back to Hong Kong.Me and my companion have a German passport.Can we get a FREE visitor visa when crossing the border by train and must a hotel be booked in advance?Thank you!

The 5-day VOA is available for you. However, you can not take a train to get it. The best way is to get to Huanggang, Luohu or Shekou Port to get it and a hotel order is necessary. There are always long line queuing up in front of these visa offices so you'd better get there as early as possible. The opening time is generally 9:00-16:30.
