Question regarding VOA for singaporean passport holder

Singapore passport holder - Travel to ShenZhen for 3 days.

If I fly directly to shenzhen baoan airport, can I get the VOA? Or would it be easier to come to HK and stay there?

Recent feedback shows that Shenzhen airport is not offering visas on arrival. So, you are advised to use 144 hour visa free transit instead. To be able to use 144 hour visa free transit, you will just need a flight out of Shenzhen or Guangzhou to a third country or you can exit to Hong Kong or Macau by ferry from Shekou port in Shenzhen.

Please, have in mind that for both options (plane or ferry), you will have to buy your tickets in advance, print them out and have them with you. Also, you will have to take exactly that plane or ferry you have bought your tickets in advance or better to say, before your arrival in China.

This is, in my opinion, the easiest and most convenient way how to deal with the situation of your kind.

The alternative is to fly to Hong Kong and to take one of several border crossings and apply there for 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival. However, I have to inform you that the waiting times on overland border crossings are long. If you decide for Hong Kong, then the best option is to take a ferry to Shekou in Shenzhen in the morning hours and to apply for a Shenzhen VOA at Shekou visa office. Please, just have in mind the opening hours of Shekou visa office: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 16:30.
