About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

COVID TEST

Hi

I have 19h transit in Shanghai, flying from Budapest. Do i have to take a test PCR before flying?

Yes, you will have to take a DIY covid test and make a photo of the result. Also, you have to fill out the Health Declaration Form. Both easy to do... It is quite possible that you will not be asked for any of the two mentioned details, but you should do them for your peace of mind.

If your transit time in Shanghai is 19 hours, you are covered by 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. If you want, you can apply, upon landing, for a temporary entry permit at 24/144 counter. This permit is free of charge and it will allow you to exit the airport, to explore Shanghai and to have an overnight in the city.
