Exiting with Expired Passport

After so many lockdowns i lost track of time, and my taiwanese passport expired. There seems to be no way for me to renew it here in China. Can I exit China back to taiwan with an expired taiwanese passport??

Generally, you need to report it to the local entry and exit administration bureau and there is no problem for you to return to Taiwan if your stay permit in mainland is not expired.
