Changing Q visa to x visa without exiting

Hello ,i am currently holding Q resistant permit and living in china,i have got a university Admission ,i would like to know can i change my Q to student residence permit directly in china? Or should I exit and apply for an x visa in my home country?
The need of visa is for Entering permission but as long as I am living here do I still need to get that 30-day entry x visa?
