About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Transit Visit exiting China via Zhuhai

USA Citizen
Flying from Singapore to Guangzhou.
Staying in Guangzhou/Taishan area for 4 days.
Plan to exit via Zhuhai, then to Hong Kong via bus.

Is it possible to use the 144-hour transit/tourist VISA?

Yes, you qualify for the 240h visa-free transit, previous 144h transit but you need to prepare the bus ticket to HK within 240h before you get on the plane to GZ, and the China immigration will take it as a proof of no overstay. You may also take a direct high speed train from Guangzhou to HK; the train ticket is much more easier to be got in advance.
