About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Shenzhen railway exit ports

Hello! I'm planning to fly from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Shenzhen Bao'an Airport and then I want to exit to Hong Kong by train. Is the Shenzhen Futian Station eligible as an exit port? I want to take the high-speed train from Shenzhen Futian to Hong Kong West Kowloon station. Thank you!

Actually, there are no eligible train exits. You are advised to take a ferry. By far the best option is to take a ferry from Shekou port to Hong Kong. This line is operated by CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport.

You will have to buy your ferry ticket in advance, print it out and also take exactly that ferry you have bought your ticket for. Like this, you will fulfill all the requirements needed for 144 hour visa free transit that is valid for entire Guangdong province.

There used to to be an eligible train option by conventional train departing from Guangzhou East station, but this train has become obsolete with the entry of high speed trains, but high speed trains are not eligible for 144 hour visa free transit scheme.

Thank you Borut for the info! Wasn't sure about Train Exits, since some websites do mention that there are 3-4 train exit ports for Guangdong province, but there's no much information on that. I will have to go with the ferry option, then. Thanks again!
