About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

URGENT help needed with travel schedule

Hi, I booked Hong Kong - PEK - Hong Kong - Hanoi. But I will stay in transit in Hong Kong on my outbound flight from PEK. Can I succesfully obtain the 144 visa or should I reschedule?

Unfortunately your itinerary is not eligible for any kind of visa free transit option because you are, based on the rules of 24/144 hour visa free transit, in a return journey:

Hong Kong - Beijing - Hong Kong

The only detail that is important within this visa free transit scheme is that your immediate points before and after your mainland China destination are in two different countris or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau who act as third countries in this regard).

To conclude, to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit scheme, you will have to reschedule your itinerary. For example, probably the easiest way how to do that would be:

Macau - Beijing - Hong Kong - Hanoi
