About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Indonesian passport need transit visa?

I'm an Indonesian passport holder and will be transiting through Xiamen for 2 hours from Seoul to Jakarta.

I read online that some indonesian nationals are denied boarding from the departure airport because they didn't have a chinese visa although they are only transiting for less than 24 hours.

Do I need to apply for a transit visa beforehand?

Indonesian citizens are definitely permitted to use 24 hour visa free transit, Xiamen included. There is no doubt about this even when we talk about a very specific airport Xiamen is. It is true that there is a group of countries whose citizens require a transit visa in advance to transit in Xiamen, but Indonesians are definitely not among them.

I am really not aware that some Indonesian citizens were deprived of their right to transit through China covered by 24 hour visa free transit, but if that has happened then such a situation is probably because of non eligibility of their itineraries or in some cases even because of the ignorance of some airport officials in the countries from where those Indonesians were supposed to travel via China to their final destinations.
