About:China Visa

X2 or F visa

I am a UK national trying to get a visa to go to China to train and study in Wushu and Chinese language/culture. I have been offered a place at a Wushu academy near Chengdu and they will issue me with the official Invitational Letter to apply for a visa. First I was looking at an X1 visa because I want to go for at least one year but maybe extend this to 2 years so I need a visa ideally for longer than 6 months (but minimum 6 months and then try and extend it if necessary). But as I am not going to a university to study for a degree I cannot apply for this visa. So then I looked at applying for an X2 student visa but I have been told that X2 student visas are not yet being issued (not until September 2023). Is this true because your website informations says that from 15 March 2023 ALL types of visas are now being issued? Alternatively, can I apply for an F visa since my studies and training could also qualify as a cultural exchange visit? What is the maximum duration that an F visa can be issued for?
Thank you

The duration of F visa is generally no more than 6 months. X2 visa is available to apply now and you can have a try.
