About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I have a one way ticket from Kuala Lumpur to beijing to Hongkong. Return ticket HK- Kuala Lumpur

I am an Swiss Italian ( duel citizen), I have an outbound ticket Kuala Lumpur - beijing (malaysia airline), Beijing- Hongkong Cathay Pacific ( Hong Kong as final destination); return flight Hongkong - Kuala Lumpur via Cathay Pacific 10 days later; can I use the 144 day transit visa free in Beijing? If not, how can I rebook to be qualified? As I would like to stop over few days in beijing sight seeing a bit but running out of time to apply tourist visa at my countries Chinese embassy. Thank you

If I have properly understood you, your whole itinerary is:

Kuala Lumpur - Beijing - Hong Kong - Kuala Lumpur.

If you have presented this itinerary correctly, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in wider Beijing area and you do not any kind of visa.

In reality, the only segment of your itinerary that is of interest for Chinese authorities is:

Kuala Lumpur - Beijing - Hong Kong

Everything before and after that does not interst them at all.

It is fine to travel on two (separate) tickets. Also, have in mind to use just one of your passports for this itinerary and not both.

In the end, this is 144 hour visa free transit and not 144 hour visa. This is very important difference.
