About:China Visa on Arrival

Visa on Arrival to Mainland China from Hainan

I would like to take a family trip including Beijing and Shanghai. Is it possible to do so by flying to Hainan and using the 30 day Visa on Arrival? We are New Zealand, Australian citizens and have been to China before, but one of our kids has not.

It is just nominally possible, but in reality it seems that this type of VOA is still in its trial phase. So, you are definitely not advised to try this option because a refusal, that is quite certain, could ruin your travel plans awfuly. In reality, you are advised to obtain a usual Chinese visa in advance.
