About:China Visa on Arrival

US citizen, Hk National. VOA Shenzhen airport

Hello. I am a US citizen, with Hk national and cannot get a China visa without going to hong kong and changing my nationality to US. Would I be able to get a VOA visa in Shenzhen Airport 144hours, staying for 5 days in liaoning region,with my next destination to phuket, thailand?

I would definitely suggest you that you, as US citizens, do the following:

- Take a flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou because only the entry by air in Guangdong province is considered eligible for 144 hour visa free transit
- Take a flight from either Guangzhou or Shenzhen (you can use them both) to Phuket
- Like this you will become eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in entire Guangzhou province
- Please, be careful because both of your flights are not allowed to have any additional landing within mainland China

In my opinion, that would be ideal solution for your needs. By the way, this scheme, 144 hour visa free transit is not a visa, but a visa free transit, so there is no any kind of visa at all.

What do you mean by Liaoning region? Is it the Liaoning provine in northeast China. What ever, neither Shenzhen VOA nor Guangdong 144-hour visa free transit allows you to travel there.

You may either apply for a visa in advance ot try to take advantage of Liaoning 144-hour visa free transit.

Alex, I am more than certain that Andy was thinking about Guangdong province and not Liaoning.

If the question is really about the Liaoning province, that a direct flight from Hong Kong to either Shenyang or Dalian airports and then a direct flight to Thailand would do the job for 144 hour visa free transit in Liaoning province.
