Indian passport holder in Hong Kong

I plan to take the high speed train to Shenzhen and visit for one day. Am I eligible for VOA or do I need to apply for tourist visa (Category L)?

It is hard to say if the Indian citizens are eligible for Shenzhen VOA since just a bit more than a month has passed since it was reintroduced. Also, we do not have relevant feedback to be able to tell you with confidence what will happen if you, as Indian citizen, apply for this particular visa. You can try, but you have to be ready to be refused.

Also, taking a high speed train is not an eligible way to do that since this border crossing does not have a visa office. The best option is to use Luohu (Lo Wu) border crossing by far. The opening hours of visa office at Luohu border crossing is until 16:30.

In reality and to conclude, I would suggest you to obtain a visa in advance to travel with absolute peace of mind. At least until we receive some credible feedback. Hopefully, the Chinese authorities will start to issu this type of visa to Indian citizens without obstacles.
