Q1/Q2 For Visiting my Spouse in China

Hi, I am a US citizen currently residing in the US. My Chinese spouse is currently residing in China, and I would like to visit them this summer. I lived in China for four years and held a residence permit until last year. Could you please let me know which visa I need to visit my spouse in China? Additionally, could you please let me know if it is possible to apply for the visa remotely or through an agency, or if I need to visit the consulate in person? Thank you.

In your case, a Q visa is well suitable for you. Generally, you can entrust someone else to submit the requirements to the sonsulate on your behalf. Before going, an appointment is needed. BTW, the application form should also be filled online. Good luck~
