About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

I currently hold a L type visa to China, Do I need to apply for a Q1/Q2?

I currently hold a L type visa to China, do I need to apply for a Q1/Q2 visa if I want to apply for the residence permit at the local Public Security Bureau? My wife is Chinese and I am bringing my foreign daughter as well. Thank you!

Yes, if you want to get a residence permit, you need to apply for a Q1 type.
