Applying for a family reunion visa. Q1/Q2

Hello, am ghanaiain and in China presently with a business type(M). Am married to my Chinese lady and the immigration refused to extend my stay after they have extended it a month each for two times saying that is all they can do because am using an M type. They have asked me to exit and come back with a Q1 or Q2 since that will guarantee me longer stay with my wife. Pls can somebody help me by telling me all the documents I will need to present at the Chinese embassy back home in Ghana as I have to leave tomorrow. Thanks.My wife and I have been to the immigration several times and all they tell us is nothing to help. Pls I really need help to understand all what I need to do before going back. Thanks.
