About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

British passport holder NZ to U.K. via Shanghai (5 hours layover)

Hi,

I understand as British passport holders me and my partner do not need to apply for a visa to transit Shanghai (less than 5 hour layover) on our way from New Zealand to the UK. We have no intention of leaving the airport airside. Is this correct and do we need any other paperwork?
Many thanks

Currently, although it can change at any moment, the passengers on all China bound flights are required to obtain and present in hard copy a negative PCR or antigen test not older than 48 hours. Beside this detail that could be removed very soon, you do not need any kind of visa.
