144-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Hi,
I'm from France, but currently studying in Hong Kong, I want to know if I'm eligible to a 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong ? by passing the land border between HK-Shenzhen, and then get back to HK by the land border ? Or I should get back by Macau in order to have A and C destinations different, or none of these options work ?

And for Shenzhen, we can go there for 24hours from HK's land border ?

Thank you !

To be able to enjoy 144 visa free transit in Guangdong province, you have to fly into it. You cannot enter it by any other mean other than a flight from some country or eligible territory. In your case, you can fly from Hong Kong to Guangzhou and then exit to Macau by boat from Shenzhen or similar. Simply, the scheme is A - B - C where mainland China is a country B.

If you want to enter Shenzhen, you can do it on the border crossing with mainland China where you can apply for a 5 days visit visa to Shenzhen, so called Sheznhen visa. This visa is limited to Shenzhen city only.
