About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72/144 hr transit visa - US citizen traveling to Guangzhou from egypt

I am doing a multi city tour Starting from Boston and other cities and finally traveling from Cairo to Guangzhou and leaving Guangzhou with three days. Can i use the 72 hour/144 hour visa on arrival. How do I notify the airline.

What's your destination after Guangzhou? If it is not Cairo or other cities in China mainland, the route will be eligible. They will check your flight or railway ticket leaving Guangzhou.
