HI ,I am working for a multinational company where i am currently based in Australian office, but I need to travel to our China Office and work for 2 weeks there. I hold Australian Passport. Do i need a Z type Visa? If yes, what official docs do I need to provide such as invitation letter etc.

A business visa should be fine in your case. The invitation letter should be provided by your office in China. You also need to submit your passport, and application form. If you are not an Australia passport holder, your residence permit in Australia is also needed.
